Description
This chocolate bar is (like many of our bars), a special and limited edition.
Mestre António is a specific cocoa-producing area in the south of the island of São Tomé (part of the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe).
The sustainably grown cacao grows under the shade of taller trees, often alongside other crops like pepper, bananas, and vanilla. This protects local biodiversity and the surrounding natural parks.
Many smallholder farmers in this region are members of the well-known CECAQ 11 cooperative. This organization supports farmers in transitioning to organic certification and ensures fair trade practices.
My tasting notes: cocoa central, dry yet vibrant earthy tones, slightly fruity in the background, hints of lightly roasted nuts, wood, and a subtle smoky whisper throughout. I also find it suuuuper creamy!
I do hope you enjoy this chocolate as much as I enjoyed discovering this cacao and making this delicious chocolate!
Have a wonderful day 🍫🤎
